Female Shot
On June 17th, 2011 at approximately 4:25p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of the 300 block of Charles Street regarding a female shot in the lower body.
Uniform patrol members, Tactical Support Team and members of the Canine Unit attended to the area. An injured 43 year old female was located and subsequently transported to hospital in stable condition.
As a result of the police investigation, road closures were in effect for a period of time.
No arrest(s) have been made at this time. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
The only reason we knew anything was happening was because my husband went around the corner to check on an accident that happened at Redwood and Charles. He was at a neighbours house visiting when the accident happened. He went around the corner and saw all the police cars blocking the road, and the usual crowd of onlookers to the incident.
I would like my neighbourhood to be free of gun shots, free of people firing them, and free of those not willing to cooperate with authorities to remove these dangerous people from the area.
I hope I am not being too forward with my request. I just want this insanity to end.
We need to put an end to the violence happening in our city. No more stabbings, no more shots, enough of this violence, lock them up.
Those who do not give up the names of the criminals carying out their insane ativities are as guilty as them. They deserve the same consequence/punishment for the crimes.

I an proud to be Queen Rat in Point Douglas, somebody shoots me or my neighbour I will tell the cops who did it immediately, while we idiots cover up for petty punks we can expect them to carry on trying to scare us into silence.

She probably does know who shot her. I am sorry to be so jaded about it too. And frankly, so probably do the police. If I have a good idea where the gang houses are, I have to assume the police also know. The gunshots in the neighbourhood a couple of weekends ago was ongoing. Did I hear or see any police cars?
