Hells Angels And Winnipeg's Criminals

I was driving down Henderson Hwy the other day and saw someone on a Harley sporting brand new Hells Angels colors. I thought they were all in jail. I remember a few years ago the police rounded them all up and put them away. I also remember once the Angels were off the streets, the young criminals got a bit out of control.
The Angels kept the gangs in line. They made sure the young gang members were not bringing too much attention to themselves. The Angels are business men, and they have rules (or maybe guidelines) they adhere to. One rule, or guideline is that they don't cause trouble with regular citizens. It's bad for business. But when the Hells Angels were rounded up and put in jail, nobody was left to keep the young gang members in line.
So, when I saw the colors the other day, I got a bit excited. Could it be? Are they back? Are the Hells Angels back in town? I sure hope so. I look forward to spotting more H.A. colors on the backs of bikers this summer. And each time I do, I will feel that much safer, in my home in the North End of Winnipeg.
It's an odd statement to make; that I will feel safer when the Angels are back in town. But it is true. If the Police cannot keep these young gang members in line, the Angels definitely can. And the gang members will actually listen to the H.A. They will listen because there are real consequences to not listening to a Hells Angel. There is a consequence that the law cannot provide. But it is one that the young punks know and fear.
As odd a statement as this is, the North End, and Winnipeg in general, just might be safer with the Hells Angels running security over the gangs.

  1. The Hell's Angels don't usually wear their colours in the city. You might have seen a "wannabe" who will probably get his butt kicked for wearing the colours on the street.

It is very sad when we hope the more experienced gangsters can keep the idiots in check. Where is Tony Soprano when you need him?

The news this week was very frightening and frustrating with all of the violent crimes committed by people under 17. If they don't start putting them in jail before they kill people, they are not doing them or us a service.

The feds need to get going with the changes to the Young Offenders Act as, I think, most people are for some serious changes. That poor man at the Pizza Hotline would probably still be alive if that little punk was in custody for his other crimes. What needless pain for the family. My heart goes out to them.

High point? It didn't happen in the North End for a change.

  2. Marie is on tne money! The gov. needs to be on top & in charge! The criminals of any age need to pay for the crime! This easy going for under 18 is bullshit! And giving the ruthless room to breath and further perpetuate their crimes is bullshit! Let's support all gov's efforts to put a stop to crime! And let the offenders pay thier dues...with severity!

    1. you got it all wrong....the Hells Angels are just another form of criminal activity...comparable to the state...the state itself is a criminal organization that doesn,t bother its citizens unless they break their rules,,,sound familiar...the difference is the state pretends to care about its citizens while at the same time does so only to extract taxes from them...its not as rough as the Angels might be to you if they wanted something...

  3. I knew a guy who wore as much HA clothing as possible. He was definitely not a gang member and bragged about his connections at work and outside of work.

One day I guess he bragged to the wrong guy, and within 48 hours, he never wore, spoke, or bragged about the HA. Rumour has it he got roughed up by legitimate bikers for being a poser.

  8. This post was definitely on my mind the past few days. I was wondering if I still believed the words I typed, and I would have to say I do.
I believe when the Angels were rounded up to such a complete extent in Winnipeg, they left a void just waiting to be filled. First it was the street gangs running amuck. But now it has escalated. I do not condone these current actions, but voids in the end get filled. Lets hope no more innocent people are involved.

  13. Only one thing more important then one mans life is order. With all these little wannabes its chaos brought by anyone with the jelousy of people in these gangs/familys. Winnipeg needs H.A they are the police of the black market. Protection from the protection we have set in place. Events happen as a reprocusion not an advancement. H.a u need to take care of these goons and clean up this city

  16. Winnipeg seems to have more than their share of criminals.
Problem is an ineffective federal government that does not have the will to do away with the young offenders act that should never have been enacted in the first place.
Weak laws and weaker jail sentences for those they do manage to get inside a prison.
LIFE in prison should mean LIFE ! Your there until your dead !
Every were else laws are strict , and if our country does not want to become a sanctuary for all the assholes of the planet we need to bring laws up to snuff and soon.
Adult CRIME ' adult TIME ! lose the young offenders act !
